Tree Pruning

Improper tree pruning is the most common cause of tree damage. All of our pruning is done according to ISA standard protocols for directional growth pruning. Some tree workers will strip too many branches from a leader, removing all of the foliage to near the end, the ISA calls that (Lions Tailing) and warns against that practice. It is bad for the trees health and appearance. In the practice of Lions Tailing, lateral branches are removed completely which the ISA, Tampa, Temple Terrace and others equate to a complete branch removal because the ISA has determined the branch to be damaged beyond repair. Tampa, Temple Terrace and other municipalities may fine people when caught doing this. There maybe trees on your street that have been victims of such practices. There are other practices that are damaging to trees that we encounter regularly as well. Beware of untrained tree workers. Use a trained and insured professional!

Trees are valuable if properly cared for. If trees are not properly cared for, they become a liability.

The advantages of an A prune are more than just cosmetic. The increased cleaning allows more air to circulate around your roof and house. This reduces mold and mildew accumulation around your roof, flashing and the sides of your house. The stains that you have on your house are typical among houses that are close to oaks. An A prune will help with that problem. Because we remove any unproductive interior growth, there is much less leafs and sticks to to shed and fall on the ground better air circulation, less wind resistance and more attractive for a longer length of time.

A (B) prune has a similar lift at the bottom, but the inner cleaning is limited to the lower trunk and bottom branches. Pruning the ends or tips of the lower branches is not as detailed as the A. Most of the better companies only do B quality. Some tree workers will do an extreme cleaning, indiscriminately removing all lateral branches and there by ruining the tree, leaving it looking like a broccoli sprout.

Mistletoe Removal

Moss Removal

Too much moss may not be good for your tree and your trees appearance. Proper pruning automatically includes most of the moss. If a more complete moss removal is requested, we can do it.

Root Pruning

Many times tree roots cause problems to sidewalks, driveways and foundations. In some cases, city inspectors will not grant a tree removal permit. Instead, they recommend root pruning which consists of cutting the offending roots.
